Upon celebrating our second anniversary, The Steward’s Staff has served over 200 youth, awarded five scholarships & two computers, escorted 50 youth on a college tour in Tennessee, and our youth leadership program, The ETHICS Society, won a $1,000 Youth Venture grant sponsored by Metro United Way.  In addition to the three high schools we currently facilitate after-school programming for, starting the 2009—2010 academic year, The Steward’s Staff will also facilitate programming for two middle schools.  Ultimately, we seek to facilitate programming for at least 75% of JCPS middle and high schools.

To continue positive growth, our business model will focus on on-site services, alleviating the need to incur the expenses and un-necessary liabilities associated with a permanent facility.  This allows us to focus directed energy on youth development.  Our youth deserve passionate, qualified, intuitive adults, dedicated to empowering them to strive for excellence.  Our youth DO NOT need another building that will ultimately draw needed resources away from their development and opportunities for success.

Our sustainability plan derives from the heart of social entrepreneurship—focused on the strength of healthy relationships, broad and diverse networking, and strategic collaborations, resulting in deeper capacity building, on behalf of our youth.  With additional resources, our organization will secure dedicated program staff, improve curriculum offerings and offer more in-depth practical living and leadership opportunities for our Metro Louisville youth.

Examples of why you can trust The Steward’s Staff with your donation:

1.    Review our Case Statement along with the top paragraph of this page; The Steward’s Staff has proven to be fiscally responsible and innovative.  With just under $67,000, The Steward’s Staff has served over 200 youth, awarded five scholarships & two computers, escorted 50 youth on a college tour in Tennessee, and our youth leadership program, The ETHICS Society, won a $1,000 Youth Venture grant sponsored by Metro United Way.  This has been accomplished in 2 years.

2.    Our staff leadership is seasoned in business development, organizational oversight, visioning, networking and collaborating.  As a Louisville native, our executive director has vested interest in building a nurturing community environment for our youth.

In addition, though he produced a six-figure income three times over, our executive director left corporate successes to focus on community development through youth services.  Our passion is building future leaders, which are civically engaged citizens.  Our concern is not in building exuberant nest eggs.

3.    The Steward’s Staff is a nonprofit corporation.  Therefore, it is run according to a business plan.  Our strategic plan is reviewed every 3 years, and our business plan is updated annually.

4.      We seek to be publicly transparent.  Our IRS Form 990’s are published online for your review at www.guidestar.org or you can click here.
